Georgia Orchin

Deputy Head, St. George's

About this speaker

After beginning her teaching career in Year 6, Georgia quickly recognised the transformative impact strong literacy skills can have on young learners’ self-esteem and academic success. She joined the team at St George’s in 2021 as English Lead and was appointed Deputy Head in September 2024.

Despite her broader leadership responsibilities, her passion for literacy remains at the heart of her work. She continues to coach and mentor colleagues, lead whole-school reading initiatives, and remain engaged with the latest research on effective spelling instruction.
