About this speaker

Rebecca Sutherland is an experienced qualitative and quantitative researcher who’s built a career working in public education at state and local-level agencies, as well as with national education nonprofits that partner directly with districts and schools to support student literacy and educator professional learning.

At Reading Reimagined Dr. Sutherland leads internal and external research activities, with a focus on foundational literacy skill assessment and instruction for students in grades 3-8. She holds a doctorate of education in human development and psychology from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, a master’s degree in educational psychology from New York University’s Steinhardt School of Education, and a bachelor of arts in history from Barnard College.
