Phonics for All: Unlocking Literacy for Students with Complex Needs
A Talk by Belinda Job (Speech pathologist, Department of Education, QLD)
About this Talk
Our school is passionate about giving students the best opportunities possible. This presentation explores how we adapt phonics instruction for students with complex communication needs, ensuring they receive the support necessary to thrive. Some students require higher doses of Speech-to-Print phonics or specific adaptations to meet their unique needs. I will discuss what effective interventions look like in our high school special education setting, using research-based best practices to support language, literacy, and communication development for all learners.
