Practical Adjustments - Sounds-Write in a Clinical Setting for Tier 3 Literacy Intervention
A Talk by Jacqui Edwards (Literacy Clinic Practitioner, SPELD SA)
About this Talk
Some students with learning difficulties need intensive Tier 3 literacy intervention to be successful in reading and writing. The advantage and privilege of working with students 1:1 is that practitioners can customise activities to accommodate students’ specific needs. Any adjustment to a Sound-Write lesson is made to remove a barrier to the student learning and with the goals of the lesson or concept in mind. Jacqui will share some of the adjustments she has used in her work in a clinical setting, particularly for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and share some activities for and experiences of working with a student with Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA)
